Seminary Hills Campus.
Home Science is a multipurpose
programme of studyhighlighting the dual role of enriching
personal and professional
fronts in today's dynamic society.
ELIGIBILITY
FOR ADMISSION
B.Sc.
(H.Sc.) Part-I : Should
have passed HSSC of M.S. Board or an examination recognized
as equivalent thereto from the following streams Science /
Home-Science/Commerce/ Arts with English (Higher or Lower)
or Vocational Subjects (Paper I, II & III).
Along
with the DEGREE, the candidates shall receive additional CERTIFICATES,
indicating the training they have undergone in the under mentioned
areas of specialization.

Education & Management
3. Fashion
Designing
4. Textile
Designing & Printing Technology
5. Interior
Decoration & Design
6. Communication
Technology & Programmed Planning.

The
course gives training in all the five subjects of Home-
Science. After getting this degree, the students can
either go in for further studies and specialize in any
one of the five subjects of Home Science by joining
the Masters Degree Course and Research and further establish
in teaching- training programmes or can excel as an
entrepreneur or as a consultant as follows: |
| 1.
Assistants/ Consultants: Work as an Assistant--
i) to Doctors and recognized Dietitians,
Nutritional Educator in the community.
ii) to Pediatricians and in Child Development
Centers.
iii) in Fashion and Textile Designing.
iv) in Interior Designing and Colour Consultant.
v) In
Family Welfare Agencies, ICDS/ Non
Governmental/ international agencies
like UNICEF/CRY etc.
vi) in script writing for Radio/ TV programming
and its presentation.
vii) as a Extension officers. |

2. Self Employments/ Entrepreneurship:
a.
Establishing a community kitchen, boutiques,
creche/ preschool, family and consumer
welfare centers counseling and guidance
centers.
b. Production and Marketing of --
i) Preserved Foods/ Bakery products/ packed
lunch etc.
ii) Educative toys, soft toys, play material
etc.
iii) Handicrafts, Embroidered/ Dyed/ Printed
Fabrics.
iv) Educative instructional materials
and educational software.
